R&B sensation and former Missy Elliott understudy Nicole “Lady” Wray has given birth to a baby girl, Melody Bloom Bacote, age one month. Born June 19, 2018, the tiny infant shares the surname as her father Dante Bacote, a working actor based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Those that may be dry on the lovely Nicole may remember she had a blazin’ tune that burnt up the charts in 1998 with “Make It Hot” featuring former mentor Missy Elliott & previous labelmate Mocha. She then afterwards pieced together a 2001 follow-up project (“Elektric Blue”) that was executive produced by Elliott but was ultimately shelved due to unexplained pushbacks and delays.
Her name still carried fresh and heavy in 2005 when she recorded material with Roc-a-Fella Records, but soon suffered the same bad luck as she did on Elliott’s label and split terms. Since then, the musician has adopted a new stage name (Lady Wray) and has produced a string of releases under her new label Big Crown Records; under which, Wray has released a full-length album (“Queen Alone”, 2016).
As of recently, Wray performed an acoustic performance to “Do It Again”, a track lifted from her 2016 “Queen Alone” album. Peep the clip after the jump:
