It is finally here, and we are completely obsessed! L.A native, Mila J, returns to the scene with her highly anticipated mixtape, ‘The Waiting Game,’ and can surely attest that the wait as well worth it.
Mila is currently working on her debut full length studio album but wanted to give fans a little something to hold them over. The Waiting Game features 14 sultry tracks co-produced by Mila herself along with by Immanuel Rich, Mila J, Eric Cire, Mars (1500 or Nothin) Detail and Jasper. The mixtape also features Mila’s Jodeci-inspired collaboration with Future, “Freaknic,” and a cover of Future and Drake’s What A Time To Be Alive cut, “Diamonds Dancing.”
The wait is over, but we did not wait to rape the replay button on this fresh body of work. Each cut lifts the mixtape up a notch as it progresses, and we honestly do not have a favorite as each song sparks a different emotion. Random: We absolutely love the fact that althoughsongbird, Jhene Aiko and Mila J are sisters, yet they have managed to completely differentiate their sound, and individual style. It allows more room for both siblings to be likable for their own unique genres, and we love them both!
