North Carolina rapper, J. Cole proves the exact opposite of the saying “promises are meant to be broken”, after holding his end of a bargain initiated with a fan two years ago.
After releasing his ‘Revenge of the Dreamers mixtape in 2013, Cole opened a hotline for his fans to call in and talk with him, one of which is fresh high school graduate, Cierra Bosarge. During the exciting exchange, Bosarage invited the rapper to her high school graduation, followed up with a twitter dm, and a letter to the rapper to assure the invitation was taken seriously. Cole agreed to attend the graduation as long as Cierra got accepted into a four year university.
Two years later on June 25th, Bosarge fulfills her end of the bargain and surely so does Cole. Admitting to rerouting the tour to attend the fan’s graduation, Cole comes bearing gifts of some of his favorite novels, including The Autobiography of Malcolm X and C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce.
