R&B Singer, Brandy Norwood is ‘Sitting on top of the World‘ once again, as she preps for her opening night on Broadway! Today the Grammy Award winner previewed her upcoming Broadway debut engagement as Roxie Hart. The singer will play an eight-week run opposite the legendary Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly at the Ambassador Theatre from April 28-June 21.
After the outstanding rehearsal Brandy got a chance to chat with a few media outlets to dish on her feelings about being on Broadway, performing 8 shows a week, and even spilled the tea on her fantasy love interest.
Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. This long-running revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.
Check out the full performance of Brandy and Amra as they only build the anticipation for opening night, and express the adoration they have for each other.
