Drake hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend and performed twice on stage. Alongside the usual cast, the rapper/singer/actor returned to his first craft and played several characters. The entertainer earned the audiences laughs as he portrayed a middle aged dad at his daughters sleep over, a Jewish boy at a Bat Mitzva and even the “Greatest Rapper Alive” Lil Wayne.
Aubrey Drake Graham started his acting career at the age of 15 as Jimmy Brooks on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi. Aubrey then left after season eight of the show to pursue his music career and Drake was introduced to the world. Since his debut, he has released four studio albums, the most recent Nothing Was The Same released in 2013. Drake has been featured on several artists tracks such as Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and numerous others. He’s been caught in love triangles with Barbados bombshell Rihanna and Chris Brown, graced the cover of GQ and taken the Grammy for Best Rap Album for his 2012 Take Care.
He also performed “Started From The Bottom” and a medley of “Hold On We’re Going Home/From Time” featuring Jhene Aiko. This was his first time hosting SNL and depending on how well the ratings did, this might not be his last. Drake is definitely a well rounded superstar and isn’t stopping anytime soon.
