It looks as though Rihanna’s mini-Insta shoot is not sitting so well with The United Arab Emirates.
Over the weekend, the superstar’s Diamonds World Tour made its stop in Abu Dhabi and while we would expect for her live show to come under scrutiny, it was a photoshoot outside of a mosque that went left with the Arab community.
Rihanna and photographer Gomillion Leupold used the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as the backdrop for a quick photoshoot. Dressed in an all black jumpsuit, donning a headdress that covered her hair and skin, complying with the Grand Mosque’s clothing rules, and a gold necklace, the photos show Rihanna modestly serving high fashion.
According to the Grand Mosque, the photo-session violated the rules on the “status and the sanctity of the mosque.” Although Rihanna and Leupold did not bring any harm to the mosque, they were asked to leave shortly after the shoot took place.
