So it’s no secret that over the years the paparazzi of our generation have become increasingly ridiculous with regards to the constant violation of privacy and downright harassment  of most celebrities; reality stars included. Well one particular celebrity has had enough and before she made that move to Paris, she decided to do something about it here in the United States legally. Halle Berry, one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood has been one of the victims to the relentless harassment from paparazzi for years. However, all that changed when on September 24th,2013, after Halle Berry fought at the California State Capitol for protective laws, Governor Jerry Brown obliged and signed into law a redefinition of harassment.

As of January 1st,2014 any paparazzo caught photographing or recording a “famous” child because of his/her parent’s job can be fined ($10,000 for the first occurrence and doubled for every other one thereafter) and spend up to one year in jail. In a public statement, Berry stated “ “On behalf of my children, it is my hope that this is the beginning of the end for those overly aggressive paparazzi whose outrageous conduct has caused so much trauma and emotional distress”.

Although, this law will limit the everlasting access that we need from celebrities and their family outings **pure sarcasm** it was long overdue and definitely necessary. Kudos to Halle and all the other celebrity moms that fought for the change that was so desperately needed!!!!!
