The man known as the ‘bodyguard to the stars’, his clients including Nelson Mandela, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and most recently, Jay Z was found dead earlier this week after being tasered by Miami-Dade County police. Apparently, a women by the name of Christiane Jung heard strange noises in the house and when confronted by Oosterbroek a fight between the bodyguard and the women’s husband, Markus Jung broke out. It’s said that not only was the bodyguard naked, but he was also seen swallowing an unknown substance prior to the break-in. When police arrived, Oosterbroek became combative with officers, ‘violently resisting arrest’. That’s when he was tasered, and shortly after was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital in Miami. Although autopsy results are still pending, the police believe that he was under the influence of drugs as he had struggled with substance abuse for quite sometime.
This is the second time this month, that a man has died after being stunned with a police taser in Miami-Dale County, as 18-year-old Israel Hernandez died after he was shocked following a foot chase over graffiti. Still, local police insisted that the devices are safe to use, as most people who die from being tasered, die from a cause not related to the weapon.
