As September creeps up on us and the release date for Drake’s new album nears, more details surrounding the project become apparent. The latest? News that Drake’s bonus track, ‘Heat of The Moment” will include his father, Dennis Graham.
In a recent interview Drake told XXL: “My dad is a star, that’s what you have to understand. I’m living my dad’s dream. My dad wanted to be a famous singer. I have my dad on another bonus record, called ‘Heat of The Moment”. No one is quite sure yet, if Graham will actually be singing or doing a spoken voice-over like he did for ‘Jodeci- freestyle’ but regardless it’s nice to see the two of them getting along.
Drake was raised by his mother Sandy Graham, after his parents divorced and his dad moved away when he was 5. “I didn’t [really] have a father, because he was in jail two separate times”. gradually the two were able to pick up the pieces. “There have been dark times, but at the end of the day my dad knows I love him and that he’s a great friend of mine” Drake however, does go on to say, “As far as being a father goes, I look forward to being a better father for the children I have”.
Nothing Was the Same will be released September 24th.
