Starz has picked up a new series created by Courtney Kemp Agboh and executive produced by 50 Cent. The new series, Power is expected to begin in Fall 2014. The series has Hardwick playing a lead character , James “Ghost St. Patrick. He’s a wealthy NYC nightclub owner who only caters to the elite. His plan is to build an empire by turning his club into a Fortune 500 company and escaping the gritty streets of New York City.There is only one issue that he has to overcome which is the fact that his character having to lead a double life. While he caters to the elite at his business he is also the kingpin of the most lucrative drug ring in the Tri-State area. Things become complicated when his marriage, family and business all become threatened as he makes an attempt to leave the criminal lifestyle behind and become the successful businessman he yearns to be.
After starring in several television roles & films such as “Sparkle,” “For Colored Girls,” “Kick Ass,” and “The A-Team”, this time the 39 year old Georgia native nabs his first leading role in this series.
Starz Managing Director, Carmi Zlotnik praises the actor for his talents, saying, “Omari is an actor of incredible range and versatility. When we met Omari, we knew he had all the tools needed to play such a complicated and complex character. We look forward to him bringing Ghost to life on the screen.” The first season of Powerwill be eight hour long episodes and will begin filming later this Fall.
