Some people’s mid-week reads might be the local paper, their favorite blog, or simply keeping up with their social timelines, but I love pulling up the Billboard stats to see what’s happening on the charts every Wednesday.
This week, congratulations are in order to Mr. “Blurred Lines” himself, Robin Thicke, who snagged the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 200. Selling 177,00 copies, it is the singer’s first No. 1 album and highest sales debut. The lead single and title track record is also still sitting pretty at No. 1 as well for its seventh consecutive week.
Other artists in this week’s Top 10 are debuts from rapper Tech N9ne and one of the original boy band groups, The Backstreet Boys. JayZ’s MCHG falls 2-3 in its fourth week on the charts.
