After a week of speculation and high estimates, the final numbers for Justin Timberlake‘s ‘The 20/20 Experience‘ are in! That over sever year hiatus definitely helped build the anticipation, as Mr. Suit & Tie will debut at no.1 on the Billboard 200 with almost 1million copies sold the first week (968,000 to be exact) according to Billboard.
This marks JT’s best sales week ever as a solo artist. His second album ‘Future Love/ Sex Sounds’ follows with a 684,000 1st week debut and his solo debut ‘Justified’ with 439,000 first week. This also marks as the 19th largest album in history to debut with such high numbers since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. The all-time best-selling week was when Timberlake’s former group, ‘N Sync, saw its “No Strings Attached” album debut with 2.42 million at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 8, 2000.
Justin is only bested by two other solo male singers for highest week sales, Usher’s ‘Confessions’ which opened with 1.10 million and Garth Brooks’ ‘Double Live’ at 1.09 million.
Congrats Justin on the solid debut! and we still haven’t put down the album. In a bid to increase those sales, get into some of the 20/20 highlight tracks below!
