On the heels of releasing her new single “Russian Roulette” Rihanna is already causing controversy with the lyrical content of the song. Singer Tiffany Evans took to her Twitter to voice her displeasure about the song. She said:
Russian Roulette= Suicidal Rate gon sky rocket! You gotta watch what you say because there are a lot of weak people in the world. They are susceptible to anything so anything you say or do, some people actually do listen. So make sure it’s nothing bad. It’s okay to be deep, but not murder deep. Man! I really wish I could tell you guys what the industry really is and what stars are apart of destroying this world. The stars who worship satan, and those who have killed to get the respect they have now. You’d be verrrry surprised.

The producer of the song, Chuck Harmony, isn’t too happy about her lashing out, so he took to his twitter and said some things in regards to her tweet! He definitely didn’t bite his tongue either…

There are no satanic messages in the music. Maybe if we did a remake of ‘Promise Ring’ (Tiffany’s hit single), then Rihanna wouldn’t be a devil worshipper. People are so closed minded. The song is not literal. Like most provocative art, its symbolism. Grow up. I’m never going to defend my art…I create it and then it’s out of my hands. So reviews don’t hurt me, but Tiffany’s unrealistic take on the song really urked me because idiots breed idiots. Bottom line, she is in the music business so she understands that the song is not indicative of the artist views, but rather, it’s the brainchild and vision of the songwriter and producer. With that being said, to use that song as a shining example of devil worship in the music business, you are saying that Ne-yo and Chuck Harmony are devil worshippers. Thats stupid!! That’s beyond stupid it’s immature. Artist should understand art. So with Tiffany Evans rant, I can safely say that the title artist should not be part of her bio.

I personally feel like everyone is entitled to their own opinion. She believes what she believes, and he feels what he feels. I don’t really think I feel the song had any satanic messages in it though. That might have been stretching it. Who do you agree with? Do you think the song is satanic driven? Talk to me..

I believe that a lot of people are taking the message the wrong way. I highly doubt that she is saying they worship the devil. However I do believe that this song coulb be inturpeted the wrong way to the weak-minded so I do beleive you have to be more careful about the things you put out when you have so many different fans. As for the producer he should have been an adult and took the “criticism” and left it alone!!! everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we have to learn when to respond and when not to respond!! Tiffany Evans is a wonderful artist and she will soon be just as successful as the top artist are!! And for that producer to try and belittle a child like that is rediculous and very unprofessional of him, he needs to be a adult, man, and role model to people like her!!! He ought to be ashamed of himself!!!!
Wow! I’m in 100% agreement with YoungDebonair.. the truth is that many people are influenced by the music they listen to. If you listen to a song over and over again about suicide, those lyrics will make an imprint in your conscious and have some type of weight, power, and/or effect. The powerful statement “you reap what you sew” also applies with music. If you sew music about death into your ear then you’ll reap death type situations. All in all, I believe that everyone should develop a personal relationship with Jesus and know who he is because when it’s all said and done, he’s only going to rep those up there who rep’d him down here. Peace and Blessings.
Regardless of what the producer says…the song is one that pushes the line of art and reality. It WILL have effects on those weak mind, the followers of the world of which there are many. She said she wishes she could tell us who is into these cults “artist who helping destroy this world” is a REAL thing. Music and entertainment is a crucial key in mind control of those who are easily influenced and there are artists who portray and subliminally put messages in their music. Rihanna is just an example, such as JayZ (HOVA? YEA RIGHT BLASPHEMY) and Kanye (JESUS WALKS) and even Beyonce. People are just recognizing it more because its more obvious and up front. The end is near, this is not where the story ends rather where it begins and they are gathering their army just as God is gathering HIs. Pick a side is what its coming down to, even with the music. Blessings
I think they both had their points. The song is a very dark song, and most ppl’s reaction that I have noticed have said its sounds like a song about suicide. I think she could have left the whole “satanic beliefs” part out. The producer should have left it alone…he says he will never defend his music, yet he felt the need to. Also, it is true that the song is the vision of the songwriter & producer, however, its the consumer who interprets the song.
the producer aint have sh*t to do wit that tiffany said about rihanna, as he said, “I create it and then it’s out of my hands. So reviews don’t hurt me” so why the f**k is he worried about Tiffany’s opinion, and insulting her.. Not very professional at all. I feel like there were too many people who took tiffany’s message the wrong way!
