Two American journalists, detained in North Korea since March, were reunited with their families early Wednesday in California. Euna Lee and Laura Ling (sister to Lisa Ling) were arrested in March hile reporting from the border between North Korea and China. They were then sentenced to 12 years of hard labor on charges of entering the country illegally to conduct a smear campaign. The woman’s family along with Former Vice President Al Gore made an appeal to Former President Bill Clinton to travel to the communist country and seek their release (The journalists are employed by Gore’s California-based media company, Current TV). North Korea pardoned the woman on Tuesday after Clinton’s brief trip to Pyongyang. He brought them home this morning.
