Former Net Basketball player Richard Jefferson is speaking out about his last minute wedding cancellation to fiancee Kesha Ni’cole Nichols. The couple was set to marry last weekend, but Jefferson called it off a few days beforehand, via an email. The New York Post spoke to Jefferson yesterday and he admitted that he told his bride-to-be that their wedding was off in an email. “There was a lot of stress and tension in the relationship. We’ve been through a lot — but we just couldn’t continue,” said Jefferson, sounding upset during a telephone interview. He also said he’s giving her a “six-figure” settlement so she can start a new life. Of the money he’s giving Nichols, Jefferson said, “I’m not trying to buy her off. She has a lump sum to help her move on. It’s been an emotional time for both of us,” he said. “I know she’s hurt. I’m hurt, too.” As for the rumors of his sexuality, “I’m not gay,” Jefferson said. “That couldn’t be any further from the truth. I have nothing to hide. It’s so crazy, the divorce rate out there,” Jefferson added. “If you aren’t 100 percent certain about something, you shouldn’t do it.”
Well as far as the email goes, yea it is messed up, but he did mention that after sending the email they had a two hour conversation on the phone. I’m not taking sides here, but at the end of the day I commend him for not going ahead with something he was not 100% sure about. Too many times, folks tend to go on impulse regarding something so serious like a marriage. Why do you think these celebrities go in and out of marriages? ….What do you guys think?  Source
