When James Cameron’s Titanic came out, the film grossed over $1 billion dollars and made stars Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet household names. Now, over a decade later, the cast and the famed director are giving back to the last remaining link to the 1912 tragedy: 98 year old survivor Millvina Dean.
At the time the famous boat sank, Dean was only nine weeks old, and now she is struggling to keep herself healthy and financially afloat. Irish author and photographer Don Mullan publicly hallenged the Hollywood stars to help the woman, who desperately needed money for her care. Without hesitation, Cameron, DiCaprio, and Winslet contributed to a $30,000 fund which will ensure Millvina is financially secure for the rest of her days. perezhilton.com
